Sometimes we cannot build a project to our total liking due to lacking the "right stuff" . So you do the best you can and be satisfied until you are able to fix it just right . I like this much . It floors me to see the excellent brush paint jobs . If at all possible , spend the cash on a Compressor and Air Brush . You won't regret it . If not , please keep them coming . Your work is top notch . Thanx for sharing . |

Actually, I lied!!! I should have said, "I don't use an airbrush". I do have an airbrush, but to be quite honest, I find it much easier to use the rattle cans and/or hand brush. I have lots of patience to build models but, for some reason have not got the patience to set up the airbrush, then spend time cleaning it again. Plus, with rattle cans, I can paint more than one model at a time in different colours, then just put them back in the cupboard until the next time. The main drawback to rattle cans is limited colour choices in enamel paints and not always accurate for the real cars. Sometimes I use automotive laquers with a primer but find that it is difficult in 1/32 scale to hide "orange peel" without hours of colour sanding and a clear coat. Laquer, I find, works better with modern car bodies in larger scales as there is less tiny details to sand around. But you are right. I should get the airbrush out and get used to it. |
